Clown 2: Building Blocks
6 week journey to Develop your Clown Practice

Welcome to the Bristol Clown School’s new six-week course the follows on from Clown 1: Foundations, for anyone with an interest in developing their comic potential to create brave, authentic performance.
Each week we continue to deepen the practice of clowning; developing our improvisation skills, listening, action and reaction, balance and off-balance, timing, rhythm and physical comedy while training the key principles of complicity, generosity and of course, play!

We will add more dynamics and building blocks of clowning to expand your experience of this dynamic comedic form. We will explore:

★ play & impulse
★ elements, materials & animal-studies
★ rhythm & timing
★ movement dynamics
★ audience connection
★ solo, duo & group improvisations
★ performance

A deepening practice and understanding of clowning is vital for anyone who wants to create brave, original work within a character, a play, a choreography, a dramatic space or generally in their creative practice.

Each session consists of introductory body work and clown principle training, followed by solo and group improvisations.

Discover new ways of expressing yourself through your physicality. Encounter the world with fresh eyes and a playful heart. Connect and play with a gorgeous, growing community of clowns in fun and surprising ways. Plenty of laughter guaranteed!
